Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 16, 2013

All things considered, we really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect. Everything was within walking distance. Restaurants, a mall, entertainment. It's all available. The staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant. The bed was like a cloud. Soft linens and soft pillow top was perfect.

The hotel is tucked nicely into the front of the Horton Plaza shopping center and is within walking distance of many attractions. It literally sits in the Gaslamp Quarter, and is less than 10 minutes walking distance to the House of Blues, Midway, Embarcadero and Petco Park. You do not even need to take your car or hire a taxi to get anywhere in downtown. The area is safe, and gets safer as you walk toward the water. The bellman recommended "Richard Walkers Pancake House" for breakfast. It is on Front Street and was about 5 minutes away. The food was great! Our room was very modern and the hotel was super clean. I've stayed at many hotels in San Diego, but this one is the most centrally located. For the most part, I only book SD hotels through Priceline, and really hope this hotel gets selected the next time I stay. ...

I would rate this hotel higher, but the fact the hotel doesn't provide transportation is a minus. It's easy to assume as there are two Westin's on the same street, so make sure you pick the right one.

I will not trust a Westin Hotel again ! just felt like it is all about the money and Status and not making the guest feel welcome! Also no off street parking ! 36.00 a night!! The westin could learn alot if they checked into this hotel under cover ! it was all looks & no personal attion to the guest at hand! It was a let down for my girlfriends birthday ! so much for taking her to a 4 star hotel! Send them to a Choice Hotel to see how guest should be treated!Next time Ill stay home in Vegas!!! ...

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Westin for four days and three nights, and we absolutely enjoyed our entire stay. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and friendly, from a complimentary arrangement for our anniversary to the quick room service. Our room was very nice thanks to a room upgrade to the city view (which was AMAZING!) and the room amenities were wonderful, noting the massage-style shower. We couldn't have asked for a better location, being only a 5-minute walk to the Horton Plaza, less than 10-minute walk to the Gaslamp District, and a 10-minute drive to Seaport Village and Little Italy. Although we didn't swim, the pool was nice with a small city view on the third floor. We loved the on-site fitness center and, although a little cramped, the hot tub felt amazing. The only issue was the valet parking at $36 a night, which we expected out of a nice hotel... but, here's a trick for the future. Next to the NBC building, there is street sweeping Tues.-Thurs. so no parking on the street 3 a.m.- 6 a.m., BUT Fri.-Mon. you can park in the 15-minute 8-6 zones over night without getting a ticket (you just need to move your car by 8:15). We tried this for one night with success. The valet staff from ACE Parking, who work with the Westin and were equally as helpful and friendly, also mentioned that you can park in the structure off 4th and F Street over night for $10 by mentioning to the garage staff that you're a Westin guest. We would love to stay at the hotel again and look forward to our next trip. Thank you again! ...

Staff was very nice, good location and nice room. But,you will need to bring your own shower water or put up with the very very "restricted" amount that they allow. And parking is an additional $36.00/night.
