Hotel Guest Reviews of the Wingate By Wyndham-Richmond/Glen Allen
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.April 30, 2013

closeness to activities rates high, however, the poor insulation in the rooms make it impossible to sleep if people are in the hallway talking after you go to bed. Will not stay at this hotel again.

We arrived late on a Friday evening and the room was hot and very dirty. There were obvious messes on the bed covers and bed skirt. I really didn't think hotels were re-using these days. I actually made a note and intended to leave it in the morning. I was leaving early for an all day event in Richmond and just wanted sleep. During the night, despite attempting to turn the heat completely off (we stayed in January) the heat kept coming on and the room just got hotter. In the morning at about 7:00a.m. I confronted the front desk with both the cleanliness issues and heat problem. I was assured it would be resolved. I also left my mobile number and specifically requested a phone call to update me while I was away for the day. I never received a phone call from anyone. I did not return until late in the evening and discovered the room was cleaner, but the heat was asphyxiating. When I confronted the desk I was handed a new key and told I cold move across the hall. He didn't check the room, offer me a bottle of water. Nothing. I returned after we moved and told him that it was unsatisfactory and his approach was not acceptable and I wanted a refund, at least for the night before. I was told he wasn't authorized to do that on the weekend. Stunned, I left lengthy comments for the weekday manager. She did actually contact me on Monday afternoon following the stay and has offered to make things fit and has extended an invitation for me to stay again. If this is actually resolved, I'll return to modify my comments to reflect marginal satisfaction. I was surprised by several things during the stay and would like to try again with a more pleasant result. The weekday manager also told me she had been to the room and the heat was completely malfunctioning. ...
