Hotel Guest Reviews of the Wyndham Garden Hotel Baronne Plaza

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The location was very good. Walking distance to FQ and Canal Street trolleys. Great restaurants close by. City Diner is connected to the lobby and open 24 hours.
My room did not have a window. Also, it was tiny, even with 2 double beds. I had to look at the clock in the morning to determine if it was, in fact, morning. I will not stay here again in a windowless, tiny room.

Good location, friendly staff, clean environs, quiet, 24 hour City Diner connected to the lobby is a plus. But.........a room without a window? That's a deal killer for me. Not again, unless I'm assured of a room with a view. The room is small enough and with no window, it's easy to get claustrophobic. Sorry.

Was a hair in the bathroom.

Very excellent staff. When I arrived the MOD advised me of all rest. etc. close to the hotel... very informative and I lived at the Roosevelt so knew the area. Was very helpful.

Location
staff didn't help us upon arrival, we had to take our bags out of the car and leave our keys at the front desk.

It was great, only disappointment was valeting the car.

The location was pretty good - right between two major streets, and not far from Bourbon St. The common spaces were nice, too - there was a coffee shop downstairs, and the lobby was really pretty.
We made it clear that we wanted our sheets changed, and the maid made up the bed, but I had dropped make up on the bed earlier in the day, and the spot was still on the sheets. They also ran out of caffeinated coffee for FOUR DAYS, and didn't comp coffee

If you are not looking for luxury, but just a clean place to rest your head at night between fun times in NOLA, this is a great place. However, if you are looking for superior service in terms of maid-service, room-service, or amenities, you should go somewhere else. The front desk staff was awesome! But the maid service left something to be desired. They didn't change our sheets when we asked (but made the bed up so it looked like they had). We had been out the night before and were grimy from walking on Bourbon St, which is why we wanted them changed that day. But by the time we figured it out, we were pulling the covers down at 1 AM the next night! They don't have maid service at night, so we had to sleep on them. They also ran out of caffeinated coffee, in New Orleans. There's no excuse for that - this is a city that never sleeps, and to keep up, you need your caffeine. They did not comp coffee down in the lobby cafe, which would have made a huge difference. I can understand one day, but they didn't have any the whole time we were there, as if there was just none to be had anywhere in the city! The other odd thing is that a lot of their rooms are interior, and have windows that look out into the hallway. Our curtains closed all the way, and it ended up being a blessing (because we stayed up so late and wanted to sleep in) but it was a little odd to be so enclosed - it would have been nicer to have an exterior view. ...read more
