Hotel Guest Reviews of the Wyndham Garden San Diego
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 9, 2013

Price was good and the location had easy access to the various beaches surrounding San Diego and going to downtown San Diego.

They double charged me for the room and I had to wait 3 days for my refund. The staff isn't very friendly, and there was a long wait to check in and out. In fact, the lady working walked outside several times while checking people in. There was no coffee, not even in the lobby under the "We serve Starbucks" sign. No continental breakfast, and the area is terrible. There were several homeless people living along the side of the hotel so we didn't feel safe parking in the lot. There were also several homeless people along the streets surrounding the hotel. The area is extremely dirt and not an ideal place for the location. We would never have stayed here by choice, we got it on a bid and will no longer be bidding on hotels in SD for this reason! ...

The location is perfect and the room is good and clean. Except for the room service. I hope the next time i check in again. I will not experience the kind of room service that they have.

My boyfriend witnessed the driver breaking into cars in order to tow them. The hotel did nothing to stop this and we left around 330 am after calling the police to the hotel. Needless to say I got my money back however horrible experience will not be back and very illegal shady business going on there.

This hotel has potential to be a great choice for travelers- good location, lots of surrounding eateries and shops. However, I felt the staff really needs some training in customer service. I had a broken tv and was given a hard time when I requested to change to a room with a working TV. I was told that there were no rooms available but it was funny because when I checked in only 30 minutes prior, the lady at the front desk asked me which floor I would prefer to stay on, so that told me that there were other options. When I made this point to the man I was speaking with on the phone, he immediately cut me off as if my point was invalid. After trying to get him to stop talking over me, he then said he could transfer me to his supervisor because there was nothing he could do other than get maintenance to come back and replace the TV- which would require some more time and patience that I did not have, especially after a 2.5 hour car ride to get to the hotel and dinner reservations shortly after my arrival. The supervisor I spoke after was no better than the person before. After I made my point about being offered a different room upon check in, he said "Well housekeeping was not aware that there were no available other rooms" and ask, "so housekeeping also works the front desk, thats odd" then he said well those rooms are reserved for expected guest. I responded "well if they are not here yet, then give them my room, fix the tv before they arrive and give me a reserved room with a working TV, problem solved". After more back and forth, he agreed to put me in another room. To add to the unfortunate service at this hotel, all through the night, a tow truck was towing cars without parking permits. With the constant "Beeps" of the truck and towing cars in the parking lot just outside of my room, guest running out to stop the tow truck, I didnt get a good nights rest either. What a disaster! I'm pretty certain I will not be a guest at this hotel in the future. ...
